The speculation has finally come to an end. The third season of the popular teen series "Euphoria" has officially begun to be prepared, reports Variety.
The much-anticipated sequel to the Emmy-winning HBO series will begin filming in January 2025, and all major cast members will be back.
"I'm excited because we're ready to start work on 'Euphoria' in January. We're thrilled with our creative partnership with Sam [Levinson - creator of the series] and this incredible cast. We can't wait to bring the next season to life for all the fans," she said. Francesca Orsi, Executive Vice President of HBO Programming and Head of Series and Movies.
This means that work on the third season will begin exactly three years after the premiere of the second. HBO initially announced that production of the new season could begin in March next year.
There are many reasons for such a long wait: the 2023 actors' and writers' strikes, actors whose popularity exploded and were committed to other projects, the death of actor Angus Cloud and producer Kevin Turen, Sam Levinson's desire to write the entire series himself... All of this , fans feared that they would never see the continuation of the story, even at some moments it seemed almost certain.
Variety previously reported that the plot of "Euphoria" in the third season will probably not take place in high school anymore, but will skip a few years and show the main characters as adults.
The cast includes Zendaya, Sidney Sweeney, Jacob Ilordi, Hunter Shafer, Storm Reid, Alexa Demi and Eric Dane.
