The jubilee, tenth edition of the Green Montenegro International Film Fest, under the peak of Durmitor, next to the Black Lake, closed on Sunday evening with the award ceremony and the screening of the film that won the Grand Prix.
The Grand Prix for the best achievement at the festival went to the Greek film 'The Perfect Meal', directed by Alexandros Merkuris from Athens.
"President of the jury, Montenegrin director, Ivan Marinović he emphasized that this film stands out for its extremely fresh cinematic language and narrative rhythm, refined aesthetics, perfect atmosphere and fundamentally important story. The authors skilfully, through a mosaic of characters and their narratives, open up a wide field of knowledge about Mediterranean cuisine and diet," says the announcement of the Green Montenegro International Film Fest.
"'The Perfect Meal' is a film that should not be underestimated. The Mediterranean is not only a geography, but a culture of living, and this film reveals to us a great aspect of this rich culture and the way we can integrate it into our lives - if we really want to," the organization added.
The second prize in the main festival category 'Ecology' went to the director Dimitrije Špilnok and the production of Špilnok Film from the Russian Federation for the film "The Fire Fox".
"This film represents the realization of special dramaturgical, directorial and visual achievements, making it a dignified author's work, with an exceptional story that holds the attention of the audience as they follow the film. Filming takes place inside the reserve, where there are strict rules for humans. The film shows the true story of a family of foxes in their natural habitat," the festival emphasizes.
The third prize in the same category went to the film "In the Land of Palm Oil", directed and produced Deniz Dragijević from Indonesia, a film that focuses on the human and environmental victims of palm oil exploitation in Indonesia.
"The film holds the audience's attention by combining the harsh first-hand confessions of villagers who are victims of land grabbing by large global corporations, using authentic footage of young activists of the Dayak people, who expose the corruption that is leading to the destruction of their land," the statement added.
The first, second and third prizes were also awarded to films in the categories "Ecology of the soul", "Promo tourist film" and "Student film".
The selector of this year's edition of the festival for the categories "Ecology" and "Ecology of the Soul" is Gojko Berkuljan, Montenegrin director and main producer of RTCG.
