Samanta Klinč, who played Eloise Midgen as a girl in the movie "The Goblet Of Fire" from the "Harry Potter" series, revealed that the children who stood were paid as little as £2,91 an hour.
Eight films, which adapted the story from the novel Joanne Kathleen Rowling, were filmed in the production of the Warner Bros. company in the period from 2001 to 2011, and the main roles were interpreted by Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson i Rupert Grin, like Harry Potter, Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley. Together with the three "Fantastic Beasts" productions, this film franchise is in fourth place for earnings of all time.
However, as Klinč told, it did not bring much profit to everyone who worked on the films. She was an extra in the part "The Prisoner Of Azkaban", while in the fifth she portrayed the character of Eloise.
"Let's talk about how much we were paid as extras in the Harry Potter films and how much I was paid for the role of Eloise Midgen," says the actress in a video posted on the TikTok social network.
"For example, in 'Goblet of Fire' Daniel Radcliffe was paid 11 million dollars, that's nine and a half million pounds. We would be invited for breakfast in the area outside the set around 5 o'clock in the morning, and we would return by bus at the time of the biggest crowds. Are you ready to hear how much we got paid? 35 pounds per day. That's £2,91 an hour," she said.
As she claims, for the role of Midgen, her fee was doubled, so she received 70 pounds per day spent on the set, but despite the small per diems, she points out that everyone was provided with food during filming.
In the meantime, the HBO company has announced a major television project that will be a new adaptation of seven novels, and it is expected that the series will devote each season to one book.
In February, it was confirmed by Warner Bros. that the premiere of the first season will be on HBO Max in 2026.
“We don't hide our excitement when it comes to Harry Potter. We spent a lot of time with Rowling and her team. Both sides are excited about the return of the franchise. Our conversations have been going great and we are very excited about what lies ahead. We can't wait to share new stories with fans around the world," he said Dejvid Zaslav, CEO of Warner Bros.
He added that the series will last "at least a decade".
"My wife and I read Harry Potter to our children... It's really touching that now, for ten years, we will allow people to watch Harry Potter on HBO," he said.
For now, it is not known who will interpret the title character, but also the other roles, which fans are eagerly waiting for.
Radcliffe, whose role in Harry Potter made him famous around the world, was specific that he "has not been informed" whether he or any of his co-stars will appear in the series, in any other roles.
