Actor Mark Wahlberg recently, in an interview with Forbes magazine, he revealed how his role in the film "The Union" came about, which is available for viewing on the streaming platform Netflix from Friday.
As he says, in this production he plays "James Bond from Jersey".
"I wanted the audience to be able to identify with my hero. I definitely can. We came up with this idea by talking and we came up with the fact that I don't think I would ever be asked to play James Bond, but it would be very cool if they did. I wondered what it would look like," the actor recalled.
"That's how the conversation started with the producers and people from the team. That's how we came up with the final idea," he added.
In the film, he plays alongside Volberg Halle Berry, who, as a secret agent, finds her ex-boyfriend from high school and offers him a job, although she knows he doesn't have the necessary experience, but she is aware that as a construction worker he is physically fit and ready to risk his life. According to the synopsis, her superiors agree to this idea, because the criminals have stolen the data and have information on all secret agents and police officers who have ever worked, so they need a person that no one will recognize.
"Hala didn't need a coach, she came to the set prepared. She is enthusiastic when it comes to work and that is what we have in common," Volberg praised her colleague.
