Irish actor Colin Farrell embodied numerous characters in his career, but one role was the most challenging for him. He admitted that preparing for the role of the military leader and emperor Alexander the Great in the film "Alexander", directed by Oliver Stone from 2004, was a real challenge.
As reported by Far Out Magazine, Farrell once revealed in an interview with the BBC that his role in Alexander proved to be the most challenging in terms of preparation and working with other characters.
This film received a lot of criticism when it was released, and Farel admitted that he felt like a bad actor after the poor result of the film, Indeks reports.
"It was the biggest challenge in my life. I like challenges. I think comfort is an actor's worst enemy, because the easy way is always available, I hope I never take it. I like that Aleksandar was a man with a vision and nothing stood in his way to achieve it", said Farel and added:
"I don't think that vision was based solely on greed and the desire to possess. He was passionate. We all need to have passion in life. He was a man who in the end almost drowned in that passion and in what that passion created," said Farel.
