The creator of the "Kaos" series, Charlie Kovel, said that he was disappointed by Netflix's decision to cancel this title after only one season.

Netflix announced on Tuesday that it has decided to suspend work on the dark comedy, which reinterprets Greek mythology in a contemporary way and stars Jeff Goldblum as Zeus.

Kovel reacted to the news with a touching message on Instagram.

"Of course I'm disappointed that I won't be working on 'Kaos' again, but I don't want this news to overshadow what we've done. I'm incredibly lucky to have worked with such an extremely talented cast and crew, and I'm extremely proud of our series. Thank you absolutely to all who participated: it was a team effort worthy of Hercules, and a tremendous privilege to work with you all," he wrote.

He thanked the fans for their love and enthusiasm.

"We saw subforums on Reddit that honestly warmed my heart: the small details and hidden additions you noticed brightened my day many times. I was moved to tears by your positive reactions to the series - thank you!", said Kovel and added that one of the theories about who or what 'Kaos' is was correct.

The eight-part dramedy, which follows three people who discover they are connected through a prophecy to each other while battling a group of corrupt and arrogant Greek and Roman gods, premiered on Netflix in August.
