Actor Feđa Štukan, who portrays the character of inspector Ljub Vasiljević in the series "Saber", said in an interview for Danas that he only understood the methods of the former State Security (DB), which the series deals with, when he was banned from entering Serbia.
DB was a security agency within the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Serbia. That service was abolished in 2002 and was replaced that year by the Security Information Agency (BIA).
Štukan said that, while preparing for the series, he met people who participated in the arrests and interrogated members of the Zemun clan.
"I talked with them for days while we were working on (the series) Klan to create the character of Čumet, I later used all that knowledge when I was working on the character of Ljub Vasiljević in Sablja," said the actor.
Asked about the functioning of the BIA agency, he recalls that he was expelled from Serbia the day after the filming of the series ended and that it was then clear to him what Saber was talking about.
