Eva Longoria believes that the return of the series "Desperate Housewives" is not necessary, but if the right idea were to appear, she would be "the first to sign up", reports Varajeti.
During a panel at the Content London event, where she talked about the production company Hyphenate Media Group, which she founded last year with Chris Abrega, Longoria talked about the projects they are looking for. She emphasized that they are engaged in "production with a purpose" and ask the questions: "What do you want to say?" and "Why now?". That topic then led her to reflect on the potential return of the "Desperate Housewives" series.
"There's no real 'why now' for the show. Some titles come back just because it's, well, popular. But I've talked to [show creator] Mark Cherry a thousand times, and we've both come to the conclusion that we've completely exhausted those characters because we were on the screen for a whole decade, with 24 episodes a year... That's a lot of stories told". said the actress.
At that moment, Abrego quipped: "And for the record, if 'Desperate Housewives' comes back, we'd love to produce it."
"I'd be the first to apply! I miss Gabi," Longoria added.
Longoria played Gabi Solis in this comedy-drama series from 2004 to 2012. In a recent interview with People magazine, Cherry said that his idea for the return of the series would be a prequel set in 1966. He estimated that "about 70.000 people" have asked him about the possible return of the series and admitted that he "has a few ideas for it". However, he agreed with Longoria that there must be a "good reason" to return.
