Millie Bobby Brown couldn't hold back her tears as she read a farewell letter to the cast and production team of "Stranger Things" after the final day of filming on the popular Netflix series.
On December 20, Netflix announced that filming for the fifth and final season had ended. Braun marked this occasion by publishing a photo gallery on social networks, recalling her nine years of work on the series, Varajeti reports. She was only 11 years old when production began in November 2015.
Among the photos with which she shared her memories, there was also a video in which she was crying while saying goodbye to the crew on the set. She hugged one member of the team and declared that she loved everyone present.
"Shouldn't goodbyes bring relief? Like when you leave school, and you're glad to leave your teachers and classmates behind. Not so with me. I'm nowhere near ready to leave you. I love each and every one of you and will always carry the memories and the bonds we have created as a family. I love you and thank you," said the young actress through tears.
Brown became the face of "Stranger Things" playing the role of Eleven from the first episode, and the popularity of the show turned her and her young co-stars into global stars. Last year, in an interview with "Women's Wear Daily", she said that she was ready to say goodbye to the series in its final, fifth season.
"I think I'm ready. This series has been a huge part of my life, but it's like graduating from high school, like senior year. You're ready to move on, to blossom and grow. You're grateful for the time you spent together, but it's time to create your own story and live your life," she said then.
Her co-star David Harbor expressed similar sentiments in an interview with Discussing Film last year.
"The funny thing is, when I started working on the show, I never wanted it to end. I love this show and I think it's fantastic, even if I'm not a part of it. Now, almost nine years after filming the first season, I think it's time to is over," he said.
The fifth and final season of Stranger Things will premiere on Netflix in 2025. Netflix has confirmed the return of the entire cast.
The fourth season, which premiered in the summer of 2022 in two separate parts (May and July), brought an epic battle against evil - the demon Vekna and Demogorgon in the Inverted World. In that fight, the beloved character Edie Manson (Joseph Quinn) sacrificed himself to save his friends. Vekna is weakened after the defeat, but strong enough to spread the Reverse World through Hawkins, the town of the series' hero. The main characters survive, but Max is left in a coma after Vekna takes control of her body.
