Hollywood director and screenwriter Quentin Tarantino recorded “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood”, as a kind of homage to the 60s in Los Angeles and the tragically deceased Sharon Tate, and it seemed that this rounded off the whole story with a happy ending, writes the Empire Online portal.
It is for this reason that no one expected the news that a sequel to "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" is reportedly currently in the works, but without Tarantino in the director's chair.
Instead, he will be in charge of directing. David Fincher, and the story itself is the most deserving of this, as the sequel focuses on the character of stuntman Cliff Booth, who was played by Brad Pitt, a frequent collaborator of this director.
On the other hand, Tarantino will still have his own responsibilities, considering that he is in charge of writing the script, which was inspired by "The Movie Critic" - his tenth and, as he announced, final film, which he has been working on for several years.
Tarantino previously expanded the story of Booth's life in the novel "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood," which included additional material not shown in the film.
Still, Leonardo DiCaprio actor Rick Dalton will not reprise his role in the sequel.
This wouldn't be the first time Tarantino has handed over the directing job to a colleague - Tony Scott directed “Tru Romance,” and Robert Rodriguez “From Dusk Till Dawn”, both filmed according to his script.
Due to the fact that Fincher is currently very busy working for Netflix, there is speculation that this sequel will also be filmed for that streaming platform, and filming could reportedly begin as early as this summer.
