The sequel to the film "Godzilla Minus One" has been officially announced, and the Toho company, which created the monster Godzilla in 1954, was responsible for it.
While the first part from 2023 was titled "Godzilla Minus One", the sequel is "Godzilla Minus Zero", and the premiere date is still unknown, as are the plot details.
Takashi Yamazaki, who wrote the script and directed "Minus One", has been hired for the sequel, while the Shirogumi studio, which was in charge of the special effects and thus secured an Oscar in that category, will also return to the project.
The aforementioned Oscar is the first to be awarded to a film from the Godzilla franchise, but also the first to be won by a Japanese film in the category for best special effects.
The first part takes place at the very end of World War II, after nuclear bombs were dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and Japan is forced to mobilize again due to a huge monster created by the effects of radiation.
Unlike all previous films, “Godzilla Minus One” was based more on human characters instead of a giant reptilian monster.
