Star of the movie "50 Shades of Grey" Dakota Johnson she spoke openly about her experience in the film industry and the challenges of production.
The actress, who owns the production company Tea Time Pictures, which she founded in 2019, has admitted to having a “love-hate relationship” with her career. During an “In Conversation” session at the Red Sea Film Festival in Saudi Arabia, Johnson spoke about her transition into producing and the sense of constant internal struggle while working in the industry.
"I have a love-hate relationship with my job in all aspects. Producing is exhausting because you see everything behind the scenes, and it's often very ugly. I don't always like it, and finding out that the financiers are sometimes really shady breaks my heart. It's hard for me as a producer, but it's also hard for me as an actress. But despite the bad things that come with the industry, I'm grateful to be able to do both," Johnson said, according to Variety.
She previously commented on the state of the film industry following the commercial and critical failure of her Marvel film Madame Web, in which she played a medical technician with prophetic powers. At the time, she highlighted how difficult it is to make art in an industry where many creative decisions are made by people who lack creative flair.
