The creator of the globally popular series "Squid Game," Hwang Dong-hyuk, is preparing a new project for Netflix. The streaming service has given the green light to the series titled "The Dealer," and the main cast has been confirmed.
Hwang will be the producer of the drama series, directed by Choi Young-hwan, and written by Jun Ho Lee and Lee Tae-young, Index reports.
According to Variety, the series focuses on Geonhva, a skilled croupier whose wedding preparations fall through after she becomes the victim of a real estate scam.
Drawn back into the world she decided to escape, Geonhwa descends into a dangerous gambling underworld and must reach for long-hidden skills to regain control of her life.
Geonhwa will be played by Jung So-min, and her character is described as a croupier who has hidden her abilities for years that give her a huge advantage at the card table. The series also stars Ryu Seung-bum, Lee Su-hyuk, and Ryu Kyung-su.
