Scarlett Johansson has been dethroned as the highest-paid film actress of all time, and the new leader on the list is "Avatar" star Zoe Saldana.
The latest, third installment of James Cameron's science fiction saga, "Avatar: Fire And Ash," is responsible for Saldana's rise to the list of highest-paid actresses of all time, reports The Numbers website.
Thanks to her involvement in this franchise, as well as her roles in Marvel films and "Star Trek," she came in first place with $15,46 billion, while Johansson is now in second place with earnings of $15,40 billion.
On the other hand, the highest-paid film actor is Samuel L. Jackson, who has earned $14,6 billion so far, and his income is twice as high as that of his colleagues who follow him on the list.
Saldana rose to fame in the early 2000s, when she began landing roles in big-budget films. She played Uhuru in JJ Abrams' 2009 "Star Trek" reboot, and went on to appear in two sequels. That same year, she landed the female lead role of Neytira in "Avatar," which remains the highest-grossing film in history.
The actress joined the cast of “The Guardians of the Galaxy” in 2016, where she played the character Gamora. This character allowed her to star in two more sequels, as well as in Marvel’s biggest films “Avengers: Infinity War” and “Avengers: Endgame,” which are also on the lists of highest-grossing films.
In addition to her work in blockbusters, Saldana won a Bafta, Golden Globe and Oscar last year for her role in the Spanish-language drama "Emilia Perez."
Although she is no longer at the top of the list, Johansson continues to earn well, thanks, among other things, to her role in "Jurassic World Rebirth," which hit theaters last summer.
