Actor Adam Sendler, best known for his roles in comedies, has promised to make at least 50 more films before he leaves the film industry.
In his speech at the AARP Films for Older Audiences Awards ceremony, which advocates for the fight against "ageism" (decreasing opportunities for engagement in later years) and emphasizes the work of creatives over the age of 50, Sendler addressed the topic.
"A few people in my private life told me that when I accept this award, it means I'll officially be old. But that's not the main reason, I'll give you ten more reasons why I'm old now," the actor said, then listed that he "has to use Viagra just to pee" and that he "sends messages in a font so big it can be read from an airplane."
The actor also said that he "tried to watch 44 different movies, but only stayed awake for eight minutes in total."
At the end of his speech, Sandler thanked those in attendance, including co-stars George Clooney, Kathy Bates and others.
"I promise all of you here tonight that I will make at least 50 more movies before I die. And at least 25 of them will be good," said Sandler in his own style.
