In collaboration with regional comedians and satirists, Croatian stand-up comedian Peđa Bajović has created a new show "Tjedeljnik" that will deal with events from the ex-Yugoslav republics, and the pilot episode will be available on Sunday, at 9 am, at the same time on the YouTube platform and Facebook and Instagram social networks.
"This is the first real post-YU satirical video format, which we intended for all people of good will and a healthy intellect! That's why the name 'Tjedeljnik' is a combination of two words, the Latin and Cyrillic alphabets," explains Bajović.
"In the middle of last year, after returning from a tour of Trump's America and working with colleagues who are part of the creative teams of the late-night shows Jimmy Kimmel Live! and The Daily Show - I decided that it was time to do something like this here too, but regionally! Of course, something similar already exists - two Zorans; Šprajc in Croatia and Kesić in Serbia already have their own weekly shows, but both deal primarily with topics from their countries. My colleagues from Zagreb's Prime Time do the same. And all of this is recorded in the studio only in front of the camera! My colleagues and I come from the world of stand-up comedy and we know very well how important instant confirmation in the form of audience laughter is, and that's why we recorded this pilot show in front of about a hundred souls!", explained the comedian and author of the show.
"We had a glimpse into the content, and we see that questions are being raised such as why Serbian educators are jealous of the gendarmerie; is Zoran Milanović a Russian player and does Donald Trump deserve the Nobel Peace Prize and where did the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina come from? There is a reporter reporting from Konjic about Bosnian Americans, and artificial intelligence was also activated that was supposed to give its answers to tricky questions about Montenegro, North Macedonia, Slovenia and Kosovo - including all of Metohija!", is the announcement of the pilot episode.
It is currently unknown when the audience will be able to watch the next episodes, as the production team points out that everything depends on finances.
