The upcoming film adaptation of the novel "Wuthering Heights" has attracted attention not only for the story itself, but also for the intense connection between lead actors Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi on set.
The Australian actress spoke openly about how their dynamic during filming was so strong that she often checked on Elordi's whereabouts, and his absence could cause discomfort.
"When I work, I get emotionally attached to the colleagues I play with. I love them all so much, and I'm always the person who's completely devastated when the work is done. I quickly connected with Jacob. I noticed that I was starting to look around to see where he was. I was really upset and lost. And I felt a little lost, like a child without their favorite toy or something like that," Margot Robbie said.
In the film, Robbie portrays Catherine, while Elordi plays Heathcliff, whose tragic love story forms the core of Emily Brontë's novel.
The actors point out that the emotional intensity of their roles further strengthened their connection outside of filming.
The film is directed by Emerald Fennell, the trailer was released back in September, and reviews mostly focused on the costumes and the film's obvious eroticism.
"Wuthering Heights" will begin its theatrical run worldwide in mid-February.
