Producer Jerry Bruckheimer has now officially confirmed that work on a sequel to the "F1" film is underway.
The sports drama that was shown in theaters last year, in which Brad Pitt plays a former Formula One driver who returns to help the team, was very successful.
It earned $630 million from worldwide cinema ticket sales, a record for the production company Apple Original Films.
This achievement was also a big surprise when it comes to awards, considering that it has three BAFTA Award nominations and four Oscar nominations, and has already won two Critics Choice Awards.
"We are working on a sequel," the producer briefly confirmed in an interview with the BBC.
"It was a long journey to create this film, as we faced several strikes, but in the end, the film entertained audiences around the world. I had never worked with Brad Pitt before and it was very exciting," he added.
It is still unknown whether Pit will play in the sequel.
