Actor Callum Turner has refused to comment on rumors that he could become the new James Bond, despite increasing public speculation, NME magazine reports.

The star of the series "Eternity" recently became the favorite of the bookmakers for the prestigious role of agent 007. According to the bookmaker Coral, Turner had odds of 7,4 in December to succeed Daniel Craig, ahead of colleagues such as Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Henry Cavill.

At the Berlin International Film Festival, where he was promoting his new film “Rosebush Pruning,” Turner was asked how he was dealing with rumors that he could be the next Bond.

“There have been speculations and reports for a few weeks now that you are the new James Bond. Can you share how you are dealing with that?” one of the journalists present asked him.

"You're right, it's too early for that question. I won't comment on that. Thank you," Turner replied curtly.

His co-star, Tracy Letts, tried to joke that he might be the next James Bond.

The speculation comes after a report last year by Deadline, according to which Amazon, which took creative control of the franchise in 2025, was looking for a "fresh face" and an "unknown actor" to play 007.

Meanwhile, it has been confirmed that the next Bond film will be directed by Denis Villeneuve, known for the film "Dune", while the script will be written by Stephen Knight, the author of the series "Peaky Blinders".

There is already public speculation about the artist for the next Bond song. Pop star Charli XCX has said she doesn't think she's "made for it," but hasn't completely ruled out the possibility.

"Never say never. I'm open to being invited - although they probably won't. Maybe it's not the right choice for me," she said on The Julia Cunningham Show.

A similar view was expressed by Noel Gallagher, who told Talksport that it would be an "absolute honour" for his band Oasis to record a Bond theme, adding that such things "should be done by the British, not the Americans."
