A new film adaptation of the popular video game Metal Gear Solid is in the works, and will be directed by Zak Lipovski and Adam B. Stein, known for their work on the project "Final Destination: Bloodlines".
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the duo has signed a new deal with Sony. As part of the partnership, their production company Wonderlab will work on directing their own projects, as well as producing films for other authors. The focus, as they say, will be on "entertaining, commercial, character-driven and genre-innovative films."
As part of that deal, Lipovski and Stein were confirmed as directors of the film adaptation of the game Metal Gear Solid, which is being produced by the famous father-son duo, Avi Arad and Ari Arad.
"Metal Gear Solid is a groundbreaking, almost cinematic masterpiece that changed the world of video games forever," Lipovski and Stein said in a joint statement.
"We are thrilled and honored to bring to life the iconic characters and unforgettable world created by Hideo Kojima," they added.
For now, details about the cast, plot, and premiere date are unknown.
