After the very difficult years that followed the tragedy on the set of the film "Rust", Alec Baldwin announced that he was considering retiring from acting to devote himself to his family and a quieter life.
The actor revealed on the "Awards Chatter" podcast that everything that has happened over the last four years has left a deep mark on him and has significantly changed his life priorities.
"Because of the situation in New Mexico, it was all very painful for me. I ended up spending a lot of time at home, I was with the kids for three and a half years. I hardly worked at all," Baldwin said.
He added that he has gotten used to family life and is increasingly attracted to the idea of slowing down his career completely.
"That's changing now, I'll do a few more projects, but I'm used to being at home and I don't want to leave anymore. I don't want to work anymore. I really don't. I want to retire and stay home with my kids."
Alec and his wife Hilaria have seven children: Carmen, Rafael, Leonardo, Romeo, Edward, Maria, and Ilaria. He also has a daughter, Ireland, from his marriage to actress Kim Basinger.
Baldwin was acquitted of manslaughter after a multi-year legal process surrounding the on-set tragedy. During that time, as he previously emphasized, his biggest focus was his family and their emotional state.
