A fake version of the film was created because of Taylor Swift

Disney reportedly created a "fake version" of the film "Toy Story 5" to keep Taylor Swift's involvement a secret, even from much of the cast and production crew.

A few days ago, Swift released the song "I Knew It, I Knew You," which she wrote and produced with Jack Antonoff specifically for the film.

The song is written from the perspective of cowgirl Jessie and represents Swift's return to her country roots.

The film hits theaters on June 19, but her involvement was only officially confirmed in recent days, even though the project has been in production for several years. Rumors of her involvement have been circulating among fans for months, fueled by her posting a mysterious countdown on her website in May.

Now Thomas Jordan, the film's visual effects supervisor, has revealed that even many crew members didn't know Swift wrote a song for the project.

Speaking at a panel at the SXSW London festival, he said that only a “very small group of people” knew about the song “I Knew It, I Knew You,” while Disney and Pixar showed journalists and employees a version of the film without the song.

"The team working on 'Toy Story 5' didn't know about this secret until last week," Jordan said, explaining that a "fake version" of the film was used for the first screenings.

"It turns out that Taylor Swift is a huge 'Toy Story' fan, like many of us. She asked to see an early version of the movie before it was finished. After watching it, she wrote a song and asked us if we wanted to use it. We said, 'Of course we do!' It happened in February and we've had to keep it a secret ever since," he added.

After the song was finally released to the public, Swift wrote:

“I’ve always dreamed of being able to write for these characters that I love since I was five years old, when I saw the first ‘Toy Story.’ I immediately fell in love with ‘Toy Story 5’ when I was lucky enough to see it in its early development stages, and I wrote this song as soon as I got home from the screening. Sometimes you just know, right?”
