Actor Matt Damon has revealed that he is interested in returning to the "The Bourne Identity" franchise and is actively looking for ideas for a new sequel.

The Oscar winner achieved worldwide success in 2002 playing the amnesiac hitman Jason Bourne in “The Bourne Identity.” This was followed by sequels “The Bourne Supremacy” and “The Bourne Ultimatum.”

The lead role in the 2012 film “The Bourne Legacy” was taken over by Jeremy Renner, with Damon returning to the role of Bourne in 2016 in a new sequel called “Jason Bourne”.

The actor now says he would like the franchise to get another sequel.

"We're always trying to make another movie in that series, because we all loved it - everyone who worked on those movies," Damon said in an interview with Parade.

"That's why we're constantly working on a new version of the script and looking for a new story. If you have an idea, let us know," he said.

The latest information about a possible new “Bourne” film emerged in 2023, when it was announced that Edward Berger, the director of “All Quiet on the Western Front,” was in talks to direct the project.

Damon confirmed these allegations the following year and stated that he would "love" to return to the role of Jason Bourne.

This year, the actor will play one of the main roles in the film "The Odyssey", which is considered one of the most anticipated releases of the year.

The film is directed by Christopher Nolan, and Damon plays the main character, Odysseus, a warrior who embarks on an epic journey home after a long and bloody war.

The film's world premiere in theaters is scheduled for July 17th.
