Actor James Franco recently found himself back in the public spotlight after he created an account on the social network TikTok and began posting videos of himself acting strangely.
World media, reporting on this, recalled that, after Franco faced numerous accusations of sexual misconduct in 2018, his longtime collaborator Seth Rogen stated that he no longer planned to work with him, and the actor has now repeated that.
Franco was one of Hollywood's most sought-after stars during the early years of the 21st century thanks to films like the "Spider-Man" trilogy, "Pineapple Express" and "127 Hours."
However, in 2018, allegations of sexual misconduct were made against him, leading to a lawsuit in 2021 that was later settled out of court. Franko denied all allegations at the time, although he later spoke publicly about the subject.
Since then, he has largely withdrawn from the public eye, appearing primarily in low-budget independent films, and his long-standing friendship with Rojen has also ended.
Now, the star of "The Studio" has said that he hasn't spoken to Frank in "a very long time" and has no plans to work with him again, despite the actor trying to return to the spotlight in recent months, including via TikTok.
The two met while filming the teen comedy-drama series "Freaks and Geeks," and later made a number of successful films together, including "The Interview" and "The Disaster Artist."
After Franco admitted to having sexual relations with female students at his acting school, Rodgen publicly distanced himself from him.
"I'm trying to gauge how much I personally want to share about it. I honestly think the whole situation is too personal and complex to go into detail right now. It's a very personal thing," Rodzen now told The New York Times.
"There is a public aspect to the whole story that I have already spoken about and my position remains the same. I think the facts speak for themselves - I have not worked with him for years," he added.
"But the private side of it all is very complex and involves people I don't know if I should be bringing into this story. I don't see what benefit I would get from talking about it in detail. Nothing has changed since the last time I talked about it. I haven't worked with him for a really long time and I have no intention of doing so again," the actor was clear.
