Barker hints at more films

Director Kari Barker has hinted that he may adapt some of his YouTube shorts into feature films, following the success of his debut film, Obsession.

This filmmaker has garnered a lot of attention in Hollywood with his first feature film. The film follows the story of a man who wants his crush to fall in love with him, but that desire leads to deadly consequences.

The film grossed more than $287 million worldwide, despite being made on a budget of just $750, breaking Focus Features' box office records and establishing Barker as the new big name in the horror genre.

The film came about thanks to Barker's success in making horror shorts for YouTube, and in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter he spoke about the possibility of some of his most popular shorts being turned into feature films.

“'The Chair' could definitely be a horror movie. I think it would be great to revive a feature-length version of the haunted chair story one day. 'Milk And Serial' will probably become a movie. I wonder if there's a possibility of hiring another director for the 'Milk And Serial' project, with me being the producer, but not necessarily the director,” he said.

“The Chair” has more than 10 million views on YouTube, while “Milk And Serial” has 3,2 million views. What Barker will do next has been the subject of much speculation since “Obsession” became a huge hit, and he recently hinted that the story could continue through an anthology series instead of a direct film sequel.
