Ariana Grande quits 'American Horror Story' to tour

Ariana Grande has dropped out of the new season of "American Horror Story" due to tour commitments.

The singer and actress joined the cast of the popular anthology series' 13th season last year, but now it's reported that filming dates have changed to coincide with her current "Eternal Sunshine" tour. Grande has not yet filmed any scenes for the series, according to available information.

Her tour, her first since 2019, kicked off last month and currently includes shows across North America. It will be followed by ten shows at London's O2 Arena, which will take place over the next month and into September.

Grande was set to join the cast of the series alongside a number of stars who have already made their mark on "American Horror Story," including Emma Roberts, Jessica Lange, Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett, Sarah Paulson, Billie Lourd, Evan Peters, Leslie Grossman and Gabourey Sidibe.

That Ariana Grande would be part of the new season was confirmed by Ryan Murphy's production, which announced the news with Vera Lin's song "I'll Be Seeing You".

Although details about the plot of the new season are not yet known, the return of a large number of actors who were already part of the series has prompted fans to speculate how the new story could be connected to one of the previous seasons.

Grande has been increasingly involved in acting in recent years. She has appeared in the films "Wicked" and "Don't Look Up," and she also has roles in the comedy "Focker-In-Law" with Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro, the film adaptation of James Seuss's "Oh, The Places You'll Go!", and the stage play "Sunday in the Park with George" with Jonathan Bailey on the London stage.
