A new documentary, "Stan Lee: The Final Chapter," alleges that legendary Marvel creator Stan Lee was embezzled millions of dollars by his former manager, Max Anderson, and controlled his finances in the final years of his life.
The film, which will be available from July 28, follows the period before Lee's death in 2018, and one of the released clips suggests that money was disappearing after major events where Lee was signing autographs.
After one successful signing session, Li asks Anderson:
“How much did I earn tonight?”
Anderson answers him:
"Not enough. It's never enough, Sten."
Anderson was sentenced to a year and a day in prison last June for tax fraud after failing to report $1,2 million in income earned through his work with Lee. Lee's daughter, JC, had previously accused him of stealing more than $21 million, but that case was settled. Anderson has denied all charges.
Stan Lee, who died at the age of 95, was remembered as one of the key people behind Marvel and the co-creator of heroes like Spider-Man and the X-Men.
