Jim Parsons has revealed that he was unhappy during the peak of his fame on The Big Bang Theory.
The actor rose to fame for his role as Sheldon Cooper in the sitcom, which aired from 2007 to 2019. Recalling that period, Parsons admitted that the pressure brought on by his immense popularity had a serious impact on his mental state.
“When I look back, I realize that, even in some of the best moments of my life, I was unhappy,” he said.
"I wasn't happy. I was stressed. I felt like I had to keep too many things under control at the same time and that all the successes and good things that happened to me were the result of me working too hard. Maybe that was true to some extent. I can't say for sure, because that's just how I functioned," he explained, admitting that he would never do that lifestyle again, no matter the money.
"I would never do that again, not for any fee. It was stressful and at times truly excruciating," he added.
