Travis Scott wants to produce and direct film projects

After his experience on "The Odyssey," the musician wants to focus more on working behind the camera and creating his own ideas.

Travis Scott is determined to become a film director and producer.

The rapper who made his hit "Sicko Mode" famous has starred in several projects, including "Gully," "Aggro Dr1ft," the upcoming "Rolling Loud," and most recently, Christopher Nolan's "The Odyssey."

Although he wants to continue acting, the musician believes he is more destined to create his own ideas and sees himself as a producer, director, composer, and sound designer.

"I would love to act more. I respect the real talent of people who wake up every day and work really hard. I feel like [behind the camera] is where I can shine the most. I love acting, but this is so much cooler," he told Variety.

To achieve his goal, Scott spent every day, from five in the morning to three in the afternoon, on the set of "The Odyssey", monitoring the work of Nolan and the director of photography whenever he was not needed in front of the cameras.

"Nobody was in their trailer," he recalled.

"It was new for me; I'm used to doing what I need to do and then going back to the trailer. But I really wanted to learn, so I definitely didn't want to be in the trailer," he said.

On set, the 35-year-old asked Nolan and the rest of the crew questions about the filmmaking process, and also looked at the "Oppenheimer" director's monitor as he set up the shots.

"I'm looking at the camera. I'm interested in everything, I'm peeking under the hood. There's no lounging around," Scott emphasized.

When asked what he learned from watching Nolan, Scott replied:

"Always follow the vision to the end. Never compromise when it comes to the vision."

The star, who plays the Bard in the epic film, has previously directed music videos, as well as a companion film to his 2023 album "Circus Maximus."

However, he will soon begin developing film and television projects for Paramount Pictures, as part of his new deal that gives him first-mover rights to projects. Scott and his production company, Cactus Jack, have not yet revealed which projects they will be releasing soon.
