The "Superman" sequel might have too many superheroes

The sequel to the film "Superman", titled "Man of Tomorrow", could create the same problem that "Justice League" once had, because the film will feature so many superheroes that some of them may run out of space.

In addition to Superman, the film will feature Mister Terrific, Guy Gardner, Hawkgirl, Supergirl, John Stewart, and Blue Beetle. There's also Lois Lane, Lex Luthor, Brainiac, and Rick Flag Sr., while there's also speculation that Peacekeeper will appear.

The sheer number of characters was one of the biggest complaints about the film "Justice League". Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Aquaman and many others had to be given enough space, even though most of them had not been introduced to the audience in detail beforehand. Because of this, the film seemed overcrowded to many.

A similar fate could now befall "Man of Tomorrow," especially since Superman will have to share the screen with a large number of superheroes. However, he has one big advantage: the audience already knows most of these characters.

Superman already has his own movie, while Supergirl, John Stewart, and Blue Beetle will all have their own solo projects before the sequel. This means that director James Gunn won't have to spend a lot of time introducing them, but can focus on the story itself.

Plus, the director already has experience with large ensembles. He successfully directed numerous lead characters in "Guardians of the Galaxy" and "The Suicide Squad," so there's reason to believe the same approach could work for "Man of Tomorrow."
