What would you do if you won a prize on the "scratch-scratch" lottery? Would you pay the bills, go shopping? A young man from Dallas donated his winnings to an abandoned animal shelter...
When Brice Vucekovic won $500 in the scratch-off lottery, he didn't think long about what he would do with the prize. Namely, he donated all the money to an animal shelter in Dallas.
"The sheer number of those animals in the shelter makes me think, it's not easy to deal with them," said Vučeković about his decision.
The Dallas Animal Shelter currently shelters 600 dogs and cats waiting to be adopted. Namely, this young man adopted a monkey named Fred, who lost one leg, from this shelter last Christmas.
"My goal in life is to take care of as many rescued dogs as possible," Brice said.
On Saturday, Vučeković came to the asylum with a van full of food and equipment for the animals. Donations, says shelter director Tereza Klik, were more than welcome.
Although this award was small, if he had won a million dollars, Vucekovic would have done the same thing and hopes his actions will inspire others to help as much as they can.
