"The Magic Mike XXL" star Amber Heard was found guilty Monday in an Australian court of falsifying the documents of her dogs, Pistol and Boo, which were discovered upon entering the country.
That is why, with her boyfriend, actor Johnny Depp, who was accompanying her at the time, she recorded a video in which she apologizes for what she did, but a large number of social media users made fun of her.
"Australia is a beautiful island, with a wealth of unique plants, animals and people," said Heard, while Depp adds that precisely because of this, the country must be protected.
The actress then explains that there are no diseases and infections in Australia like in the rest of the world thanks to strong biosecurity laws, and that they realize they made a mistake in bringing their pets into the country illegally, and that they are sorry for it.
"Declare everything you have when you enter Australia," said the popular actor at the end, who, like Heard, was ridiculed after this.
Namely, many claim that their address in the video published by the Ministry of Agriculture was staged, that is, it seems as if they were forced to record it.
The pair were also accused of recording the video message as part of a plea deal, with Depp fans joking that this was his "worst role ever".
Depp and Heard were threatened with a sentence of ten years in prison and the payment of one hundred thousand dollars, but the actress was still on probation for one year, so she must not commit a single offense in Australia until May 18.
