The mother of two children was given a guardian, that is, a person who can supervise her disposal of money, as well as decisions concerning other aspects of her life, in January 2008 after a series of outbursts and problematic behavior, as well as psychological problems.
Thirty-year-old Spears was admitted to the hospital at the time after psychological problems that arose due to disagreement with the court's decision that the children belong to her ex-husband Kevin Federline, and it was also determined that she was using drugs at the time.
