The legendary bus from "Who sings there" will soon be touring the region

The restoration of the bus from the cult film "Who is singing there" began in the Jadran film premises in Zagreb, and after thorough restoration and restoration of the bus to the condition it was in during filming in 1980, a tour of the countries of the former Yugoslavia is planned.

According to Vinko Grubišić, the president of the Jadran Film Management Board, the owner of the restoration project, there is great interest in the "Mercedes" bus from the 1940s among the public, as well as investors interested in restoration, rental and touring, and among them is a large company operating in Croatia and neighboring countries.

"We made a reconstruction plan and plan to put it on wheels and make it roadworthy for a tour of the countries of the region. I can't reveal the full name of that project yet, but its working title starts with 'Who are we...'," Grubišić points out, stating that the tour could start at the end of the summer season.According to him, big names from Croatia and neighboring countries will participate in that project, which he cannot reveal yet.

Grubišić also points out that every Sunday he receives several calls for the bus from those who want to buy or rent it, but in the film Jadran, the bus with the inscription "Krstić i sin" is considered "family silver".

In addition to the tour of the countries of the former Yugoslavia, the plan is to bring the bus to the streets of Zagreb.

"Our bus is also a future 'shuttle' that will take guests from the center of Zagreb to movie screenings and events at the Jadran filma cinema club," Grubišić points out.

When asked if he would announce a competition for a driver, the successor to the legendary film Mish who can drive blindfolded, he said that this is also one of the possibilities that he will take into consideration.

"Ko to tamo peva", a comedy of the absurd by Slobodan Šijan from 1980, is a multi-layered story about the tragicomic accidents of passengers in a dilapidated bus driving from the Serbian province to Belgrade at the dawn of the war in 1941, but also a hidden allegory about petty-bourgeois hypocrisy in moments of social crisis.

"Ko to tamo peva", starring Pavle Vuisić, Danilo Bata Stojković, Dragan Nikolić, Neda Arnerić and others, gained a cult reputation over time and is today considered one of the best Serbian and former Yugoslavian films.
