The young German could not believe it when he received a lawsuit from the college in the mail.
Marcel Paul (22) was proud when he graduated from the Faculty of Economics and Management in Essen, and that in just three semesters.
A diligent student passed 60 mandatory exams in just 20 months, and earned a master's degree.
Instead of congratulating him on his extraordinary success, the faculty "honored" him with a lawsuit.
"I received a letter in the mail from the college, stating that I will have to answer in court because I graduated too early. It seems that they are suing me for 'depriving them of material benefit', since I only paid for three semesters and finished during that time fax," said a disappointed Paul.
He states that the administration of the faculty allowed him and two other colleagues to take the exams "at their own pace" upon enrollment, but that in the lawsuit it is written that he damaged the faculty for almost 4.000 euros by quickly reaching the diploma.
"They are asking me to pay 3.772 euros, which is what I would have paid them if I had studied for the full four years. So much for success, work and effort being rewarded," said Pol.
