Now it's official - Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis have separated after 14 years of being together. The news was confirmed to the TV show "Entertainment Tonight" by Depp's representative for the media with the words: "Johnny and Vanessa parted as friends." Please respect their privacy and, more importantly, the privacy of their children”.
As reported by "The People" magazine, the couple began to live separate lives when they moved from France to Los Angeles. This year, they never appeared together on the red carpet, and their situation is, as an unnamed source told the magazine, "very sad, mostly due to the fact that they have two children - 13-year-old Lily Rose and nine-year-old Jack."
Depp (49) and Paradi (39) met in 1998, and their romance began in June of that year. The first meeting took place at the "Costes" hotel in Paris, when the actor, who was having dinner with his colleagues, saw the singer who was sitting with friends in the adjacent booth. Depp's friend introduced them and after that they talked for two hours. The long-term relationship did not have many frictions, and the statements that the couple made do not coincide with the breakup.
Thus, Depp, who lived with Vanessa in Plan de la Tour in southern France, recently told VSD magazine "that life in that country with his wife and children gave him everything."
"Now I have a wonderful family and the balance that I missed so much," said the Dep.
"I could make an endless list of things I adore about him," she recently told Parada and explained why she has lived with Depp for so long.
"We realize that if we want to continue this wonderful relationship, we have to give each other space, allow us to act the way we want. We have to trust each other. Not everyone is lucky enough to get space and trust in a love relationship," said Paradi at the time.
In another interview, she explained why they never felt the need to get married.
“I like the romance of a wedding, but on the other hand, everything is perfect like this... I mean, I'm more married than any other woman, because Johnny and I have two children. Maybe one day, but now we can really do without it," Paradi told Elle at the time.
