Shakespeare or Shakespere - that's the question now. The well-known fashion brand Topshop was embarrassed by selling t-shirts with the misspelled name of one of the greatest writers in history, William Shakespeare!
They printed the famous quote from "Romeo and Juliet": "Romeo, Romeo, why are you Romeo?", and put "Shakespeare" in the signature. The author's surname is correctly spelled Shakespeare.
The mistake was noticed as soon as the t-shirts arrived in the stores, so the famous brand and the design company "Tee and Cake", which produced the t-shirts for Topshop, were the target of criticism.
The t-shirts were sold in the UK market for £20 and were withdrawn from the market after the error was discovered. When he found out about the glitch, the Topshop spokesperson, reports the Daily Mail, only said: "Oh my God!".
