The 10 Swiss franc banknote has been declared the most beautiful in the world, but it is not known whether this is due to its golden color, the motif of the delicate hands of an orchestra conductor, or the superior protection against forgery.
The International Banknote Society (IBNS), a gathering of collectors, has encouraged the study of banknotes since 1961 and has awarded the Banknote of the Year.
The 10 Swiss franc banknote produced by the Swiss National Bank was chosen as the 2017 banknote of the year in "fierce competition never seen before" at the IBNS, the company announced on its website.
Behind her are a £10 note from the Royal Bank of Scotland with a picture of the scientist Mary Somerville wearing a hat, a glittering Canadian ten dollar in pale purple and a Fijian $7 issued in honor of his seven-member rugby team that brought the country its first Olympic medal in history, Hina agency reports.
But in the end, the judging panel liked the refined hands of the orchestra conductor, the railway tunnel and the 10 Swiss franc clockwork which, according to the Swiss National Bank, symbolizes "the country's sense of organization".
