The city authorities of New York have initiated the creation of an application for mobile devices that would show users where the nearest condominiums are in the city, reports American media.
"When wisdom is in the heart, as is the case on Valentine's Day, couples enjoy sex. That's when they need our product," says the Office for Prevention and Control of HIV/AIDS.
The application for locating uses GPS, and with a few clicks the user gets to the list of the nearest condominiums. At the same time, the user also receives instructions on how to get to a condom.
The application is available in the Apple and Android online stores.
In New York City, since 1971, condoms have been distributed free of charge at over 3.000 locations in the city. Condoms are available in restaurants, clubs, and other places where people gather en masse. By creating an application, the authorities expect, it will only make it easier to search for a location where those who need it can find protection.
"Everything we do is done to make New York the safest city for sex in the world," state the authorities.
