German emergency services report that lately, when they respond to complaints from citizens about harassment, they encounter hedgehogs in pursuit more often.
Citizens are increasingly calling the number "110", where they usually complain about neighbors who make love too loudly or about pets who are too loud. Lately, however, the most common complaints are about hedgehogs.
The hashtag even spread on social networks #igelsex (hedgehog sex).
The police in Augsburg responded to a report that suspicious sounds were heard in the yard of the elementary school and that the security light was activated. When the police arrived, they found the culprits - a couple of hedgehogs in love.
Later, they submitted a report entitled "Prickly intruders", in which it is stated that the police officers did not disturb them, reports RTS.
The mentioned case is not isolated, and the police often receive similar calls during the summer months, according to Spiegel, stating that hedgehogs are among the loudest nocturnal animals, and can produce sounds such as growling, purring, whistling, and even loud screaming, which can sometimes resemble and humanly.
