That it is not easy to earn money was shown by three lying competitors who "fight like lions" for a prize of 300 euros. More than a hundred hours of lying under the canopy of a hundred-year-old maple tree, but also almost as many hours, as they said, of not physical but mental struggle and proving that they can and will do it.

Dubravka Aksić from Podgorica and Nikšićani, Marko Vuckovic i Nikola Boskovic, admit that when they signed up for the competition, they had no idea that they would lie down for five days and that the guests of the ethnic village "Montenegro" in Brezni, in Piva, where the competition is held, would come to meet them, take photos, send them words of support .

"It has become a bit hard, but we are fighting. We don't give up, we did a little crafting. It's hard to lie down, but it's important that the three of us hang out nicely, that time passes, and we don't know how long we'll stay in the lying position," said Dubravka.

She admits that when she left for Brezna, her colleagues wished her luck and told her that they would change her at work, and that it was up to her to return with the money. At the time, they had no idea that Dubravka's layoff would be prolonged. And neither is she.

"I hope to come soon with the money. I like to lie down and rest, but I've never been this much," admits the cook, who is pleased that she finally doesn't have to worry about meals because someone else is in charge of it.

For years, Marko Vučković has been teaching children that it is important to be good, but also hardworking people, so he hopes that his students will not follow the teacher's example and "lay down" to rest well.

"It's getting a little tiring, but we'll hold out as long as possible. Somehow, we have all made a mistake, we all have the will and desire to stay here as long as possible, so probably the obligations of each of us will decide how long we will be here. This is a real adventure, and I wanted to test some of my psychic abilities. I hope my students will not follow the example of their teacher to lie this much", said Marko with a smile and jokingly added that his wife sent him to Brezna, because it is better to lie for money than to lie at home for nothing.

Nikola Bošković admits that although football is in his blood and he plays football recreationally, he is no stranger to lounging.

"I like to lie down and rest at home too. I lie here, I lie at home, I lie everywhere. Although the prize is important, so is the companionship, the new experience. They come from all over, everyone asks, everyone is interested. We are followed well. At first this was a matter of physical endurance, but now it's a mental game. The man tests himself a lot here. I use my phone less than at home and instead enjoy and think. This is a big test for me. Anything can break here. Maybe now I'll lie at home less and be more active. All this is a lesson in life. We still have the strength to lie down and wait for the predicted rain to see how things will go," Nikola said.

He admits that uninvited guests also visit them in the evening.

"You can sleep under a clear sky. There is a bit of humidity, the foxes also come to us, we fight with them, but they have some guards that protect us. This is all a new challenge, a new adventure".

The competition in lounging, which makes Montenegro unique in Europe, is organized by the Blagojević brothers, and the tenth jubilee also has a novelty - participants can go to the toilet every eight hours. That mitigating circumstance helped Dubravka, Marko and Nikola to break the record for lying down, which so far was 52 hours, although it is better to say that they set a limit to which the next competitors should reach and overtake them. However, even this mitigating circumstance did not help the other competitors to be more persistent, although on Friday morning ten of them, all from Nikšić and Podgorica, occupied the "busija" under the maple tree.

One of the hosts of the competition, Radonja Blagojević, said that they expected this year's competition to last.

"I think the rain will interrupt this competition. The only thing that can 'save' them is to get up sooner. We expected this as soon as we introduced the rule that I could go to the toilet every eight hours. Even those who couldn't get up before were persistent, not now when they can go to the toilet every eight hours," Blagojević said.
