The leader of the Polish opposition and former president of the European Council, Donald Tusk, lost his driver's license for speeding.
The police stopped Tusk yesterday morning because he was driving at a speed of 107 kilometers per hour in a populated area.
He was fined 500 zlotys (about 100 euros), a three-month suspension of his driver's license and 10 penalty points (out of a possible 24), Hina agency reports.
Tusk wrote on Twitter that the punishment was appropriate and that he accepted it without discussion.
The former president of the European Council is now the leader of Poland's largest opposition party, Civic Platform.
