The German sports equipment manufacturer Adidas announced today that it is immediately terminating cooperation with Kanye West, as the American rap musician made anti-Semitic statements in recent weeks.
"After careful consideration, the company made the decision to immediately terminate the partnership with Vesta. Adidas does not tolerate anti-Semitism or any other form of hate speech," the statement said.
The German group added that it will "discontinue production" of the rapper's Jizi brand.
The collaboration between Adidas and the rapper is known to be very successful in the world of fashion.
Vest's sneaker collection launched in 2014 was a huge success and helped the musician become a billionaire.
However, relations between Adidas and West have soured in recent months due to the musician's statements and behavior.
His Twitter account was suspended after one message that he was going to attack Jews. His Instagram account was also terminated.
During a fashion show in Paris, the rapper appeared in a T-shirt with the slogan "Black Lives Matter" crossed out, which was created against racism against African Americans. Such a crossed-out slogan is used by the American extreme right.
