A 212-kilogram tuna was sold for 36 million yen (257.000 euros) at the New Year auction market in Tokyo.
At the auction held today, the fish reached twice the price of last year.
This indicates a trend of market recovery after three years of falling prices due to the pandemic.
Japanese businessman Kiyoshi Kimura, known as the "Tuna King", paid 2019 million euros for a 2,7-kilogram tuna at the Tokyo market in 278.
