In the ethnic village of Montenegro, in Gornji Brezni, about thirty kilometers from Nikšić, this morning at 10 o'clock the sixth lying down competition began.
Ten "jabalebaros" fought for a prize of 200 euros.
The youngest competitor is fifteen-year-old Irena Marković from Podgorica, and the oldest is Dragana Tasić from Knjaževac (49), who won third place last year and, as she said, came to support the younger forces.
Irena was working this summer, so she came before the start of school, as she said to lie down.
"I prepared well. I brought Dormeo and there is my sister Mirjana, who is two years older than me. She came to support me, but changed her mind and decided to compete," said Irena.
They are also supported by their mother, Hilda, who said with a smile that although her daughters are hardworking, they are also "doing well" when lying down.
Ivana Stanković works in hospitality and came from Belgrade.
He believes that when it comes to lying down, Montenegrins can stand on the line because they "armed themselves" with fatigue, patience and good literature.
Tadija Tijanić from Brezan is the only representative of the home team, and seventeen-year-old Vukašin Vračar came from Podgorica.
There is also a team from Nikšić, a girl and three guys, who decided to fight together and share the money if they win. The team consists of Tanja Božović, Veljko Bojanić, Bojan Bigović and Dejan Todorović. As Veljko said, they are ready for the competition because they "slept all day to get in shape" for several days.
The owner of the ethno village and the "main culprit" for this competition, Milonja Blagojević, said that this year they have also prepared a novelty and offered the old timers, who will be their guests, the opportunity to compete.
"Whoever can stand lying in the car for more than four hours will win a rafting trip with Tara. The competition has become so popular in the past six years that many world media write about it, which is a priority not only for our village but also for Montenegro," Blagojević said.
The second place winner will receive a weekend in an ethnic village as a prize, while the third place winner is guaranteed rafting.
The record is held by Marko Đurović from Podgorica, who lay down for 37 hours.
Tasić and Tijanić quickly gave up further competition, and after a few hours Božović and Todorović. The other six continue the "fight".
