The fourth exhibition of vintage cars called "Celebrating Cars 2023" was opened a few days ago in Podgorica, and visitors will have the opportunity to see the old cars until tonight.

In the luxurious ambience of the "Capital Plaza", visitors can enjoy the fair and see what cars used to look like, the youngest of which was made 30 years ago, and the oldest 60 years ago.

The last day of the exhibition is designed as a Cars & Coffee gathering, where sports cars will be present, along with free coffee and service.

In Podgorica, as part of "Celebrating Cars 2023", about 20 cars that were produced in various parts of the world were presented, and among them are those with the markings "Pežo", "Renault", "Fiat", "Toyota", "Volva", "BMW", "Mercedes" and many others...

This exhibition also differed from the previous ones in that "restomod" old timers were also presented at the exhibition for the first time. These are old cars that have been restored with modern elements.

At the opening ceremony, he welcomed the attendees and explained the concept of the exhibition Igor Mitic, the organizer of this event.

He pointed out that rare cars were exhibited from the beginning to the end of the event, because as they were limited by the exhibition space, they could not all be in the "Capital Plaza" area at the same time.

"We have several car exhibitors who came here to present their cars, and I hope the visitors enjoyed the previous days," Mitic said.

He states that the culture of old-timers has existed for a long time in Montenegro and that it has been institutionalized recently.

"Today there is an old-timer Association, old-timers are recognized in the law and have their own special plates. Generally, in traffic, people react positively when they see an old vehicle. In some cases, when they see an old-timer, they want to sit in it, take pictures, look around, which I don't think should be done without the owner's prior approval," he adds.

Finally, he said that the love for old-timers is reviving in Montenegro in full swing, and he hopes that this exhibition has in some way contributed to this story continuing in the desired direction, while they plan to expand it in the future.

One of the exhibitors at this exhibition is Fedja Suhih which presented several models, of which the "Porsche 911 Carrera", the 964 Cabrio model attracted the sighs of the visitors. By the way, this car model, as he revealed to us, was produced at the end of the last century, more precisely in 1991.

"It is difficult to find cars like this because they are rare in Montenegro. Sometimes it can happen that in the countries of the former Yugoslavia, a model can be found on websites where cars are sold. We monitor all these sites, so we have to react quickly when we notice an ad with such content in the Balkans or in European countries," says Suhih.

He does not hide that old-timers are difficult to maintain, and states that breakdowns often occur because the cars in his collection are quite old.

"Parts are hard to find, however, when it comes to more serious manufacturers such as "Porsche", it is possible to order a specific part directly from the factory", said the owner of this car.

When asked what the old-timer culture is like in Montenegro, Suhih answers that some laws have recently been passed regarding these cars that are worth mentioning.

"Cars that are older than 30 years do not have to be registered for 12 months, but only for a few months, because this type of vehicle is not found on the roads that often" reveals details from the new law Suhih, who says that he is satisfied with the visit to the fair, but and the way visitors experience old cars.

"The reactions to these cars are very positive and people are quite enthusiastic when they see them," he concludes.
