The presence of a pet in the house, even if it is a goldfish, reduces rapid heartbeat and high blood pressure. Pets have a positive effect on high blood cholesterol and triglycerides. For example, cat owners are less likely to die from heart disease, while dog owners are more likely to live a year longer after a heart attack than those who don't have a dog, reports Radio Sarajevo.
