The star on social networks, the hippopotamus Mu Deng from the zoo in Thailand, predicted today that the Republican Donald Trump will win the presidential elections in the USA.
Mu Deng chose the "Trump meal" from the two dishes offered, in order to judge who will win the uncertain US election.
The four-month-old female hippopotamus has become a star on TikTok and Instagram for her antics, and in doing so has helped boost ticket sales for a zoo in the central Thai town of Kao Keovu.
Two meals made of carved fruit and each with a name were offered to the animal. On one was the name of the Democratic candidate Kamala Harris, and on the other was the name of former President Trump.
The animal chose to try the meal named after the 78-year-old Republican.
Mu Deng, whose species is endangered, has become especially popular in the US, to the extent that comedian Bowen Young impersonated her in a sketch on the cult American television program "Saturday Night Live", broadcast by NBC (NBS).
That American television network broadcast the results of a joke poll, but also conducted an additional poll on who would win if the candidates in the elections were Mu Deng, Kamala Harris and Trump.
Mu Deng would win with 93 percent of the vote, it was announced.
According to serious public opinion polls, the outcome of the US presidential elections is uncertain.
Exotic animals regularly "predict" the results of some world events, sometimes with success.
