Paris Jackson has scored a major legal victory for the estate of her father, Michael Jackson, in a long-running dispute over the late music star's finances.
According to court documents obtained by People, a Los Angeles judge ruled that $625 in bonus payments made by executors John Branca and John McClain to third-party law firms must be returned to the estate.
"Miss Jackson's objection to the bonus payments of $625 made during the second six months of 2018 is granted. The bonus payments were not approved; they are dismissed. The money must be returned to the estate," the decision states.
According to the ruling, Paris (28) is also entitled to attorney's fees.
"Miss Jackson may file a claim for reasonable attorneys' fees and costs under the common fund theory, for her justifiable objection to the executors' request for fees," the court order states.
Lawyers for Michael Jackson's estate said they "disagree with the decision, but fully respect it and plan to act accordingly."
"We are pleased that the Court itself, in today's decision, recognized and commended the work of the executors and their external legal advisors," it said, adding that the executors "created real and significant generational wealth for the beneficiaries of the property."
