Madonna says: "Put down your damn phones and connect"

The Queen of Pop, Madonna, is urging her fans to put down their phones while attending her concerts and live performances.

The famous singer is preparing to release her 15th studio album, "Confessions II," which will be released on July 3rd and is the follow-up to 2005's "Confessions On A Dance Floor."

Ahead of the album's release, Madonna has made several notable live appearances, including a spontaneous concert in Times Square earlier this week, as well as a surprise appearance during Sabrina Carpenter's headlining performance at the Coachella festival.

Following those performances, Madonna sent a message to modern audiences. During a Q&A after the premiere of "Confessions II – The Film," she spoke about how people today have a "constant need" to document everything.

"I came to this planet to be someone who does things, not someone who just watches," she told the audience, according to Variety.

She then reflected on her performance with Sabrina Carpenter, during which they premiered their duet "Bring Your Love." While she enjoyed the experience, she noted that the feeling of dancing together and connecting was marred by the fact that, instead of seeing people's faces, she saw a sea of ​​cell phones in front of her.

When asked if she had a final message for the audience, she replied:

"Put down your damn phones and connect."

So far, she has released three songs from the new album: "I Feel So Free", "Bring Your Love" and "Love Sensation".

"Confessions II" will be Madonna's first album since 2019's "Madame X," and she is once again collaborating with producer Stuart Price, who also worked on the original album "Confessions On A Dance Floor."
